Southeastern University College of Arts & Media 2016

Posted on | Integration

Southeastern University recently choose MABE for its technology
design and integration partner on the new College of Arts & Media
building. This building houses choral practice halls as well as a
recording hall, percussion practice hall, band/orchestra practice hall
with recording capabilities, 2D/3D art classroom, piano lab, 13 media
enhanced classrooms, and a large lecture hall. Aside from these rooms
there are two floors of dorm rooms, one floor of faculty offices, one
floor of retail dining space, film/video editing rooms, music practice
rooms and more.

MABE was able to provide media enhanced classrooms which featured
motorized screens, HD video projectors, in-ceiling sound systems,
Crestron Control Systems and touch screens. These rooms are all
networked and remotely monitored by the university’s Media Services
Department. For the CAM building’s remaining classrooms MABE deployed
the Martin CDD Series speakers and subs in the rooms specifically
designated for music practice and playback classrooms.

The large lecture hall has a few unique pieces in its install which
are new to the market. The first being the Martin O-Line Micro-Line
Array. This very small line array brings a big punch to this large room
while keeping the coverage very smooth and even from the front to the
back of the room coupled with two flown subs, this gives the lecture
hall more of a concert hall feel. MABE also brought Digital Projection
to the project with their new Laser Highlite projector outputting 11,000
ansi Lumens onto the rooms 11’ x 20’ center hung screen. This brought a
very clean high output, high contrast projector to the project with low
power needs, much less heat emission and the ecofriendly need to rarely
replace the lamps. This project is scheduled to be completed by the
first part of January 2017.
