This large-scale outdoor community event required professional festival event production to support live entertainment, races, audience engagement, and the evening fireworks finale.

Event Overview

The Swan Derby is one of Lakeland’s most recognized annual events. It brings together community members, sponsors, and supporters for a day of entertainment and charitable impact benefiting Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine (LVIM).

Because of this, the production needed to support both the race environment and the festival atmosphere surrounding the event. From live music and food vendors to swan boat races and fireworks, every part of the day required coordinated AVL support.

As a result, attendees stayed connected to the action no matter where they were positioned around Lake Mirror.

Full-Service Event Production

For the 2026 Swan Derby, MABE delivered a fully integrated production system. We combined audio, video, lighting, IMAG, LED wall support, and aerial drone coverage into one cohesive experience.

Our mobile LED video wall provided bright, high-resolution visuals throughout the event. This allowed guests to follow race coverage, live content, and event programming in real time. Meyer Sound audio systems also ensured clear announcements, music, and event communication across the venue.

In addition, Chauvet professional lighting created a polished festival atmosphere that carried from daytime activities into the evening celebration.

Because of this integrated approach, the event maintained strong audience engagement during every phase of the day.

Capturing the Excitement

To create a more immersive experience, MABE deployed multiple drones for live aerial coverage of the swan boat races and the fireworks show.

Drone footage provided dynamic overhead views of the competition. A wireless IMAG camera mounted directly on one of the swan boats also delivered an on-the-water perspective for spectators.

As a result, every turn, sprint, and finish was captured from multiple angles and displayed live to the audience. This created a unique and memorable viewing experience.

From pre-production planning through execution, MABE worked closely with LVIM and event organizers to coordinate system layout, audience visibility, and show flow.

Our team managed technical execution across multiple event zones and ensured reliable performance throughout the day and into the evening.
